Anahat Singh stuns world No.10 to win PSA title, youngest Asian top-20

Indian squash teen Anahat Singh (17) produced a breakout performance on Feb. 1 in Washington, beating world No. 10 and reigning Commonwealth champion Georgina Kennedy 12-10, 11-5, 11-7 in the Squash On Fire Open final to capture her first PSA Bronze-level title and become the youngest Asian player in the world top 20.

Singh’s composed attacking play saw her overturn an early deficit in the opener before dominating the next games, sealing victory in just 26 minutes — a result that marks a major leap in her rising career. “I’m overjoyed with how I executed my plan and kept my focus,” Singh said after the match, highlighting the value of her recent training block.

Her coach added that this win reflects years of steady progress and belief in her potential to challenge even higher-ranked stars. Singh’s fast ascent comes on the heels of strong junior results and recent professional successes, underscoring India’s growing presence on the global squash circuit.
