Anju Tamang ruled out of Asian Cup

India forward Anju Tamang has been ruled out of the upcoming Women’s Asian Cup after sustaining an injury during training this week, dealing a blow to the national team’s preparations.
Team officials confirmed the setback, stating that medical assessments showed she would not recover in time for the tournament. “It’s disappointing to lose Anju at this stage,” a team representative said. “We wish her a speedy recovery.”
A teammate added, “She’s a big presence for us on and off the pitch.”
Tamang’s absence forces India to adjust their attacking plans as they finalize the squad for the continental competition.
