Bumrah joins CoE camp ahead of IPL 2026 return

Jasprit Bumrah has reported to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru ahead of IPL 2026, starting March 28, as he fine-tunes fitness and workload management before rejoining Mumbai Indians.
The India pacer is focusing on strength and conditioning, with plans aligned to both IPL and the upcoming England white-ball tour. “The idea is to keep him fresh across formats,” a BCCI source said. Bumrah has resumed bowling and is expected to link up with MI before their opener against KKR.
“His rhythm looks good, and that’s key for MI,” a team insider noted. Coming off a strong T20 World Cup, where he picked up 14 wickets, Bumrah remains central to MI’s title hopes.
With 186 IPL wickets, just nine short of Lasith Malinga’s franchise record, the Ahmedabad-born quick continues to be MI’s biggest weapon.
