Harbhajan Slams Pakistan Over India Boycott Talk

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh criticized Pakistan’s reported threat to boycott their T20 World Cup clash against India, calling it unnecessary drama ahead of the tournament scheduled to be held in the United States and West Indies later this year. The remarks came on Tuesday, amid speculation over Pakistan’s stance on playing India.
“This is nothing but drama. Cricket should be kept away from politics,” Harbhajan said, stressing that global events lose value without marquee games. He added that fans deserve to see top teams compete, especially in World Cups.
Pakistan officials have cited political and logistical concerns, though the ICC has confirmed the schedule remains unchanged. An Indian cricket official said the match is expected to go ahead as planned, while former Pakistan players also warned that a boycott would only hurt Pakistan cricket. The India-Pakistan game is considered the biggest draw of the tournament.
