ICC explains travel chaos after T20 World Cup

Several teams remain stranded after the T20 World Cup due to major flight disruptions, with the ICC rejecting claims that certain squads received preferential treatment during the travel chaos.
The issue emerged shortly after the tournament concluded, leaving multiple national teams waiting for transport arrangements. According to the ICC, the delays were caused by limited flight availability and logistical challenges rather than any bias in scheduling.
“There has been no preferential treatment for any team,” an ICC spokesperson said. “We are working with partners to move all squads as quickly as possible.”
Officials added that efforts are ongoing to resolve the situation and ensure teams return home safely.
Team representatives acknowledged the frustration but stressed that the situation was largely beyond the organisers’ control as the governing body continues coordinating departures for the remaining squads.
