ICC weighs action against Bangladesh over T20 World Cup row

The ICC is considering strict action against Bangladesh over an alleged breach of tournament protocols during the Men’s T20 World Cup, with a final decision expected after high-level talks in Dubai this week. The issue arose following concerns raised by match officials, prompting the game’s governing body to seek clarification from the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

ICC chairman Jay Shah confirmed the matter is under review. “We are looking into all reports before taking an appropriate call,” he said, stressing the need to uphold discipline at major events. A Bangladesh board official insisted the team had no intent to violate rules, stating: “We have cooperated fully and presented our explanation.”

The outcome could influence Bangladesh’s standing in the tournament, as the ICC aims to maintain consistency and fairness during the World Cup.
