ICC Yet to Act on Pakistan India T20 Boycott Threat

The ICC has not held any formal meeting to address Pakistan’s threat to boycott its T20 World Cup clash against India, even as uncertainty hangs over the marquee match scheduled during the 2026 tournament in India. The issue surfaced this week after Pakistan raised concerns over political and logistical conditions.

A senior PCB source said discussions are ongoing at internal levels. “We have conveyed our position and are waiting for clarity,” the official stated. The ICC, however, maintained that the schedule stands. “There is no change at this point,” an ICC official said.

Former players from both countries have urged restraint, warning that any boycott would hurt the tournament. “World Cups need their biggest games,” a former India cricketer said. The India-Pakistan clash remains the most anticipated fixture of the event.
