IPL 2026 opener and final likely in Bengaluru
The 2026 Indian Premier League schedule is expected to be released in two phases, with Bengaluru likely to host both the opening match and the final of the tournament.
League organizers are reportedly preparing a staggered announcement to manage venue logistics and security planning ahead of the season. According to officials, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is the leading candidate to stage the curtain-raiser as well as the championship clash. “Bengaluru is strongly considered for the key matches,” a source familiar with the planning said.
An IPL official added, “We want to ensure smooth coordination across venues before confirming the full calendar.”
The tournament, one of cricket’s biggest franchise leagues, traditionally attracts packed stadiums and global attention, making the opening game and final among the most anticipated fixtures of the season.
