Pakistan Await ICC Call on India T20 Match World Cup 2026

Pakistan’s participation in its T20 World Cup 2026 match against India remains uncertain as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Tuesday it is awaiting clarity from the ICC, amid ongoing political tensions between the two countries. The tournament is scheduled to be held in India, raising concerns over logistics and security.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan is prepared to play but only under equal and transparent conditions. “We want cricket to stay above politics,” he said, adding that the board will follow ICC guidance. An ICC official stressed that the schedule is final, noting, “All teams are expected to honor their commitments.”
Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq warned that any boycott would hurt the tournament’s credibility, while Indian officials maintained that security arrangements will meet international standards. The India-Pakistan clash is one of the most anticipated fixtures of the World Cup.
