Riyan Parag to lead Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026
Riyan Parag will captain Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, the franchise confirmed on Monday, handing the 24-year-old the reins ahead of the new season as they look to build a fresh title push.
A Royal since 2019, Parag stepped into the spotlight last season, finishing among the side’s top run-getters and showcasing greater maturity with the bat. “It’s a huge honour to lead this team,” Parag said. “I’ve grown with this franchise and I’m ready to take it forward.”
Head coach Kumar Sangakkara described him as “a player who leads through actions and understands our vision,” adding that the management sees him as a long-term leader.
With a new captain at the helm, Rajasthan aim to convert promise into silverware and mount a serious challenge for the IPL 2026 crown.
