Sumit Antil wins gold at Dubai Para GP

Sumit Antil clinched gold in the men’s javelin F64 at the Dubai Para Athletics Grand Prix this week, topping the field with a dominant series to continue his strong start to the season.

The Paralympic champion took control early with a leading throw that kept rivals at bay, eventually sealing first place with a mark beyond 65 metres. His consistency across attempts ensured India finished on top in the event.

“I’m happy with the result and the rhythm I found,” Antil said after the competition. “This is part of my build-up for bigger championships.”

India’s coach praised his execution, noting, “Sumit showed control and confidence throughout.” A fellow competitor admitted, “Once he hit his best throw, it was difficult to catch him.”

The victory reinforces Antil’s status as one of the world’s leading para javelin throwers ahead of the upcoming international season.
