Suryakumar apologises after Mitchell-Arshdeep clash

India captain Suryakumar Yadav apologised to Daryl Mitchell after an on-field clash with Arshdeep Singh during the T20 World Cup 2026 final on March 8 in Ahmedabad, stepping in to calm tensions.

The incident occurred when Arshdeep’s throw hit Mitchell, leading to a brief exchange before India sealed a convincing win. The pacer was later fined 15% of his match fee.

“I felt it was important to say sorry,” Yadav said. Arshdeep added, “I went up to him immediately,” while Mitchell accepted the gesture.

“Emotions run high in finals, but respect comes first,” Yadav noted after India’s title triumph.
