Suryavanshi’s 15-Ball Fifty Stuns CSK in IPL 2026 Opener

Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi arrived at IPL 2026 with a statement. The Rajasthan Royals teenager smashed the second-fastest fifty in the tournament’s history against Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati on Monday.
He needed just 15 balls. Four fours and five sixes. RR chased down CSK’s 128-run target in 12.1 overs, winning by eight wickets.
Only Ryan Rickelton’s 14-ball fifty from 2025 sits ahead of it in IPL history. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 13-ball effort remains the Rajasthan club record. Suryavanshi is closing in fast.
“It’s going to be a cracker of a season for Sooryavanshi,” said former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar.
Ravindra Jadeja — playing for CSK on the day — praised the youngster’s fearless approach after the match. The innings also reignited age fraud allegations that have followed Suryavanshi for months. But on this night, none of it mattered. A 15-year-old just played a knock that most senior pros would envy.
