Vineet Saxena named India A batting coach

Former Rajasthan cricketer Vineet Saxena has been appointed batting coach of the India A team for the T20 World Cup warm-up matches, officials confirmed this week. The assignment will see Saxena work with the squad during preparatory games ahead of the global tournament.
Saxena, who represented Rajasthan in domestic cricket and later built a strong coaching profile, earned the role due to his consistent work with young batters. “It’s a proud moment to contribute at this level,” Saxena was quoted as saying, adding that the focus will be on “clarity, intent and adaptability in T20 cricket.”
A BCCI official said the move reflects trust in domestic coaching talent, noting that “India A tours are key for building the next core.” A former teammate also praised the appointment, calling Saxena “detail-oriented and modern in approach.”
The stint offers Saxena a major platform as India fine-tunes its bench strength ahead of the World Cup.
