Wankhede Honours Shastri With Named Stand

Ravi Shastri will have a stand named after him at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the Mumbai Cricket Association announced this week, recognizing his lasting impact on Indian cricket.
The tribute at the iconic venue, where Shastri began his first-class career, celebrates his achievements as an all-rounder and later as India’s head coach, during which he oversaw landmark Test series wins overseas. “Wankhede has been my cricketing home,” Shastri said. “This honour is deeply special.”
An MCA official stated, “His contribution to Mumbai and Indian cricket is extraordinary and deserves permanent recognition.”
Shastri joins a distinguished list of legends immortalized at the historic ground, further cementing his legacy at one of the sport’s most revered stadiums.
